Leadership. Patriotism. Service. These aren’t just our motto, they are our passion. The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum invests in the next generation of leaders while preserving the rich history of the United States military.
Founded by General Tommy Franks and his wife, Cathryn Carley Franks, the museum serves as both a historical foundation and an educational hub. It tells the story of the U.S. military, highlights General Franks’ career, and inspires future leaders through programs such as the Road Show and Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks.
Housed in a remodeled 9,500-square-foot facility in downtown Hobart, Oklahoma, the museum features:
- Galleries showcasing military artifacts and memorabilia from General Franks’ personal collection.
- Chronological exhibits following General Franks' life and career, while tracing U.S. military history from World War II to the present as told through the lives of soldiers.
- The museum’s 9/11 exhibit, highlighting the events, heroism, and leadership lessons from that day.
- A gift shop, traveling exhibit spaces, and meeting facilities.
Visitors can explore unique cultural items, historical photographs, military equipment, and videos, as well as one of only two Medal of Honor awards in Oklahoma and one of the world’s largest Challenge Coin collections.
Through its exhibits and educational initiatives, the museum not only preserves the legacy of the U.S. military and General Franks but also inspires leadership and service in future generations.
