General Tommy Franks Museum

About
Schools, homeschool groups, scouts and others can schedule a field trip to the Museum! Explore nearly 9,500-square-feet of memorabilia and artifacts exploring General Tommy Franks' life and career as well as the American military from WWII to the present. Students will see exhibitions with cultural items from around the world, unique military equipment, one-of-a-kind historical photographs, videos and much more. The Museum also houses one of only two Medal of Honor awards in the state of Oklahoma as well as one of the world's largest collections of Challenge Coins.

An extension of the Museum, the Lattimore Collection is located in the historic Stanley Building in downtown Hobart, Oklahoma. The Lattimore Collection displays over 40 different taxidermy animals from all over the world, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. Students can explore the unique collection and learn fascinating details about each of the animals such as where it is from, what it eats, how it lives and more!

Programming: Children's Scavenger Hunt
With activities suited for grades 1-5, children can explore the Museum with a UV flashlight to uncover glowing stars to help find answers to trivia questions corresponding to exhibits. Plus, there is a coloring activity and word search in the Scavenger Hunt booklet. Children who complete the activities receive their own set of dog tags!
